I've visited this cafe a few times now, and while it has its positives, there are some significant areas that need improvement. Firstly, for a place that promotes itself as a good spot for working, it's disappointing how few power sockets are available. I only found three spots with sockets and were all occupied, which isn’t ideal when you’re trying to get work done. Not sure if they had wifi, I used my connect to my phone, but it would be helpful if they had a sign somewhere (not sure if i just missed it) Another issue is the noise level. The music is loud, and combined with how busy the place gets and everyone talking, it can be hard to focus. Turning down the volume would make a huge difference for those of us who come here to work. The food menu is another issue—it's not easily visible, which was frustrating. I had to actively look for it after noticing other people were eating, especially since I was getting hungry. One thing that really disappointed me was the inconsistency in service. I was served my drink with no saucer, spoon, or napkin, while the group next to me and the person after them were given all that and even asked if they needed anything. It felt like I had to fend for myself while others received better service. That said, the cafe does have a lot of potential. It's in a great location, and it's a nice place to grab a drink and get some work done—if you don’t mind the noise. It could be a fantastic spot if they could make a few adjustments.
I'm in two minds with Hygge. It is a place to work and the concept is great. There are communal areas for group work, a huge group work table HOWEVER, it gets BUSY. Also, their furniture isn't always useful to work on (wobbly tables, tables too tall for the chairs making typing uncomfortable or near impossible) PLUS, they missed a trick as there aren't a great deal of sockets. It's odd, they encourage work, but fall just short of the mark. Now it's been open for a few years, its needs a refresh, as the furniture is tired and stained and the back of the counter area often gets piled with dirty cups. It's a shame as it's great, the coffee is nice, the food is nice and it feels friendly it's just a victim of its own success.
I really like working from here because most people are and it has a great community feel, very inviting! It can get very busy so we sometimes struggle to get a table but it depends on the day! One of my favourites.
Lovely place with multiple sitting options so that you can accommodate your body to the most productive position. Many tables with sockets, nice music, great coffee, perfect vibes. There are tall windows to add - it feels nice to observe what's going on outside and bring the natural light in. Top 5 in Sheffield.
Hygge. is a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment. I feel very cozy and super cozy working from here! The place is super relaxed, soft background music and plenty of tables with sockets
